New and Improved Course for 2023-2027 Question Pool

The first thing students will experience is a 100% rewritten course. Immediately upon the release of the question pool by the NCVEC in December, the team started to work. Using the new question pool as a guide, the team completely reorganized and formatted the course to make it easier to study. One enhancement was to pull similar questions and answers together to enhance the context.

The change to the General course has been one of Ham Radio Prep students’ most requested enhancements. One of the elements is the addition of operating footage. Through our videos, students can hear what working a DX station sounds like. They also see how an FT-8 QSO happens as part of the learning process.

The insights drawn from tens-of-thousands of students studying has enhanced the course, to enhance the study experience. First, the team has broken the material down into shorter lessons and added more practice questions.  In this new format, students continue to review every question on the exam in a video and text course. Then, they practice against every question covered at the end of each lesson.

Also, the team at Ham Radio Prep has mined their practice test data to enhance the course. The team mined their practice question data to show the ones missed most often. Now the course explains those questions in more detail.  Not only highlighting the right answer, but how the other choices are wrong in this context.

Ham Radio Prep has brought back their popular instructor Jim Reed, N4BFR.  Jim also appears in the Technician and Amateur Extra courses.  This helps provide a consistent experience as people grow in the amateur radio hobby.

Course is available on May 1st, 2023
