Job Overview:
As a Part-Time Cinematographer/Production Assistant, you will play a crucial role in capturing visually stunning footage and providing support to our video production efforts. You will work closely with our production team to contribute to the creative vision and execution of various video projects. Responsibilities:
- Cinematography and Camera Operation:
- Operate professional-grade cameras and equipment to capture visually compelling and high-quality video footage.
- Set up shots, frame compositions, and adjust camera settings to achieve desired visual effects and aesthetics.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure optimal lighting, camera movement, and overall visual storytelling.
- Production Support:
- Assist in various production tasks, including equipment setup, lighting setup, and other on-set responsibilities.
- Contribute to pre-production planning, such as shot lists, storyboarding, and location scouting.
- Aid in managing production logistics, including organizing props, coordinating talent, and ensuring a smooth workflow on set.
- Creative Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with the production team, including directors, producers, and editors, to understand project objectives and creative vision.
- Participate in pre-production meetings to discuss shot lists, shooting schedules, and overall project goals.
- Bring your creative input and ideas to the visual storytelling process while also respecting the project’s artistic direction.
- Post-Production Support:
- Assist in organizing and transferring video files to the editing team for post-production.
- Provide input and suggestions for editing and post-production processes to enhance the overall video quality.
- Collaborate with editors, as needed, to ensure a seamless transition from production to post-production.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in college or a recent graduate in a relevant field (Film, Media Production, Broadcasting, or a related discipline).
- Prior experience in cinematography, camera operation, or production support is preferred, but not required (internship, personal projects, or academic experience).
- Knowledge of camera equipment, settings, and cinematography techniques.
- Familiarity with industry-standard camera gear, such as DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, stabilizers, and other accessories.
- Proficient in basic video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, based on project needs.
- Must be located in or near Atlanta, GA.
